My dentist said that I have a cavity but there is no need to put a filling in it because it is just a baby cavity. He said usually a baby cavity will heal itself. Is that true?

  1. did he say it was in a baby tooth or a baby cavity?

  2. I doesn't sound like he's lieing. Make sure to take care of the tooth. He would mostly likely lie by saying it needed filled so he would get more money out of it. That's the only reason he would actually lie. If you needed a filling he wouldn't cheat himself out of money.

  3. Basically what he is saying that the tooth do have a cavity on it but its so small that its not worth doing right now. Most dentist would mark it on the chart as a W-(watch). Which means they will keep an eye on that tooth to make sure the cavity don't get bigger. You can control it by brushing more and using a mouthwash with fluoride.

  4. Somewhat. But you have to take care of that tooth. Try not to get too much sugar on it and brush it a lot.

  5. I don't think hed lie. He went to school for it so I'm sure he knows what hes talking about! you should be happy that you dont need a filling!

  6. I honestly do not know.  I would research more into that.

  7. Any cavity is a cavity, and I have never heard of one healing itself, baby or not. I recommend going to another dentist to have it looked at, just to be safe. When my mom was a teenager, she went to a dentist who kept telling her she had cavities and charge her to fill them. Then, when she switched dentists, she found out she never actually had all those cavities, her doctor just said that for her insurance money. That's why I say get it checked out again, because you can never be too trusting.
