Question:

Is my hamster overheated or dying?

My hamster who is still young is ill, is he dying?

He just lays there not moving and his breath is rapid and struggling! we cooled him down by putting him in water (not his head) and he is the same!

Please help!

  1. he may be depressed. he will get better in a few weeks. if not take him to the vet.


  2. i'm not sure but my friend had the same problem with her hamster and it died but i'm not saying ur hamster will die, i hope it gets better.

    does he eat drink??

    if he does not he is dying

    if he is he probably broke his back or legs so he can not move very well

  4. Hey,

    I dont think he is overheated unless you have him in a cage with no breathing holes. His legs may be broken if you at all can not move. Take him to a vet, thats the best bet to save him also move the water and food closer.

    Keep him drinking water its important.
