  1. That's an okay schedule, considering you're just coming from the Philippines.

AP classes are college level classes that you can take to earn college credit. The class itself it more vigorous, with a lot of work and tests are more frequent. There is a huge test at the end of the year around May that you take for the course. The AP test is scored from 1-5. A 3 is passing and will earn you college credit. AP classes are also weighted, meaning it can make your GPA higher than the normal 4.0. Because in AP classes, Cs are equivalent to Bs, Bs are equivalent to As, and so on, so if you get an A, it's worth even more than an A. The highest possible GPA if you take like all AP classes is like a 5.0.

Honors classes don't give you college credit, but the class is harder than regular, not as hard as AP. Some honors classes are weighted, meaning they can also increase your GPA. But not usually.

It looks good on college applications to take more honors and AP classes.
