  1. The U.S. Constitution is really a rare thing on this planet, both in the present day and also for at least the last thousand years.

    Yes it is at stake, but it's more than the document itself, it's what the document stands for. The Constitution rests on sovereignty — sovereignty of the individual first, represented in sovereignty of the States, and finally represented in sovereignty of the United States.

    The Patriot Act was another in a series of fear-driven, or worse, money-driven undercuts to individual sovereignty.

    The global-heads look in the opposite direction. The naive ones believe that a one world government will somehow bring forth the best in people, that the political and economic trends we see around us today will somehow turn topsy-turvy and that the individual will remain sovereign while submitting to strict control.

    Not going to happen. Government has to be fettered, and severely so, for the safety of the governed. That was the purpose of the Constitution, and that is the reason it has come under attack.
