You can get sponsors for clothes,bearings,wheels.deck etc.

and you can compete in comps.

It is an extreme sport I believe. " People who consider NASCAR and Motorcycle Racing a sport, would call this one too but I say it is just an extreme sport.

In Most ways,Yes. Well it isn't an Olympic sport. But that doesnt stop it from having competitions for skateboarding. I am a skater myself...I am also sponsered and skate for demos/Comps..... So yeah I Would say 99% of the time Skateboarding is a sport
