Is snowboarding a sport?

Its definitely a sport. Its not like Golf or Chess where some people think its a sport and some people dont. It should be pretty clear that its a sport.

I would think that its actually an extreme sport. especially backcountry snowboarding. (skiing on the other hand, is not an extreme sport  ;-) )

Snowboarding is absolutly a sport!

I've been snowboarding for 5 years and have been in many competitions.....alot of people esp. in my school thinks its just a bunch of crack heads getting on a board and riding down but their wrong.....so h**l yea snowboardings a sport!

It is an extreme sport, but it can be called either a sport or an activity.  My in my composition class last year, we had to do a "how to" presentation. we were not allowed to do a presentation on how to do/play a sport, by my professor said that we can do skiing or snowboarding because, at least according to her, they aren't sports, they are activities.
