Is spaghetti sauce bad for you?

I bought this garden style sauce..it has zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, etc in it...so it's kinda like a soup. So sometimes I'll just skip the noodles and eat it like a vegetable soup. Is this harmful?

  1. It's vegetables, which are good for you (altough not terribly filling by itself.)

But, like everyone else said, sometimes jarred sauces and canned soups are so flavorful because they add a lot of salt to them.  Look at the nutrition panel and check out things like sodium, saturated fat (there really shouldn't be any,) and the vitamin/mineral content.

  2. i dont think its bad for you because it has good stuff like carrots.

But its always better to use fresh ingredients and make your own so that its healthier and you can adjust the amount of mushrooms, zucchini, etc. in it.

Its also better to make your own cuz "instant" food like noodles and all are full of powder or artificial stuff.

Plus, it's fun to cook! you also enjoy food more if you put effort into it! =]

  3. No

  4. should be fine. but you should check out the sodium content. sometimes that can sneak up on you.

  5. It probably tastes better wit noodles. Look at the calories, fat, etc to see if it is bad for you or not.

  6. i dont think so...have some good sauce

  7. I wouldn't think so but check the ingredients and especially the levels of sodium and sugar. Often I find in bought pasta sauces they can be VERY high. If you can try making your own, then you know what is in it. If not, just try and go for the ones with the least added sugar and salt and make sure you mix it up with some other things so you are getting all the nutrients you need.

    Hope i helped!

  8. No, it's not bad. With all the veggies in it, nothing can go wrong.

  9. I certainly wouldn't think so!  Read the label and check the ingredients.  Probably the worst will be the sodium which is high in nearly anything that is pre-made.  Or you can see if there is a lesser sodium option but then they usually have more sugar to boost the loss of flavor by reducing the salt.

OR you can learn to make your own!
