  1. Yes, what happened to the days where swimmers would race on ability alone?

  2. I dont think so. I havent seen any body wearing these but since girls can wear 1 pieces that are just as the same as those then I dont see a problem with it

  3. Hard to say.  As long as everybody is allowed to use the new suits, I don't think anyone can complain.

  4. Bottom line is suits will always be getting made better. Shoes (minus Kenyan's) will always be giving more support to runners. Golf clubs will always be offering a further drive with a more accurate hit.

Swimmers, along with most sports, should not be compared to their rivals of the past.

Yes, the new LZR swim suit much faster than its rival suits, but it is readily accessible to all. The only reason some countries will not wear it is because they have prior contracts to other companies (who make slightly lesser quality suits)

This was the same debate with the FS-PRO, the FS II, and the fast skin.

To me, wearing one piece of cloth from another at a competition doesn't mean anything, as long as it doesn't have like underwater rockets or something like that.

Cheating is having an unfair advantage over your partner, and Speedo is willing to share its technology to everyone willing to pay the $400 or whatever per suit. Germany and other countries should just do a nice shave down, it's just as fast in the water.

  5. At the end of day the suit only helps the swimmer. If the swimmer hasn't put in years of hard work the suit isn't going to instantly make him or her a world record breaker.

The new LZR suits definitely help, and it is shocking to see so many records fall so quickly. It is especially shocking to see the records fall to some unheralded swimmers. The swimming world will right itself at the US trials and in Beijing where the top tier American and Australian swimmers, including Michael Phelps, will re-assert their dominance.

Swimming is going through a revolution similar to what speed skating went through in the lead up to the Lillehammer games in 94 with the introduction of the new, faster clap-skates. In a few months we'll have new swimming benchmarks and the furor over the LZR suit will die down and world records will once again be rare events.

  6. - If German want to blame, blame on themselves for choosing the wrong company. It's their pride to use the national products.

    - Adidas didn't invent new high tech swim suits, not Speedo's fault.

    - Unlike Adidas, Speedo mainly focus on swim suit, design the best for the benefits of swimmers and company profits. No harm.

    - USA swim team chose the right company.

    - Even Michael Phelps didn't wear Speedo LZR Racer swim suit, I still believe that he can make a record and be a champion. He's a very good swimmer.

Conclusion, Speedo is doing what the company needs to do, invent the best, serve the best and keep improving. No cheating at all.
