Is superglue a conductive substance?

My microphone broke this morning, it wasn't working so I took it apart and found two wires severed. I mght be able to get the wires reconnected with superglue, will it work?

  1. Unless you get lucky and manage to get the metal of the wires in contact with each other while the glue dries, it probably won't work. The glue will get between them and insulate rather than conduct.  I'd strip enough insulation from the two ends of the wire, then twist them together. Get a wire nut to stick them in and tighten it on, use electrical tape to be sure nothing can possibly ever come in contact with the bare wires. Be careful not to get them in contact with the other wire of the mike, or it'll blow a breaker or fuse when you power it up.


  2. Might work, just make sure the wires are connected to the speakers and none touching the other. Then use the glue to hold them in place.

  3. Superglue cannot conduct electricity.  The charge just gets lost in the polymer.  Its just a microphone so it doesn't use much electricity so it sounds plausable if you are careful. But i do not under any circumstance condone what you are attempting.
