Yes, I believe it is, but bare in mind that what they choose to show (cause it's more interesting) is only 1% of what really happens in "hauntings". Most ghosts don't want to hurt anyone. They're simply lost and confused spirits who didn't go where they were supposed to go. Such as that woman from that recent one about demonic possession. She chose to stay there.

BTW--That posession CAN happen, but it's very rare and the person needs to be a very weak individual in order for it to happen. It can't just slip into your body and take over while you're sleeping like that. Sorry.

If the "A Haunting show" is anything like a show in the UK called "Most Haunted", then I guess you really have to make up your own mind!!

I have to admitt (after seeing a few ghosts, and having LOADS of spooky experiences) that there has to be something going that we don't know about.. but the chances of being in the right place at the right time, and getting it on film, seem s to me to be a little bit coincidental!!!!

Anything that is on the discovery chanel is real. There are some on the travel chanel that I dont believe in that have the green lights when they go on their ghost hunts. The DC one. Re inacts the event... and lets the actual people talk about it. I believe that more then the others...

A good rule of thumb:Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.That works especially well with ghost stories.Wherever you see/hear them.

Unequivocally.

This is a dramatized show.  It's really not much more than paranormal soap opera.  It's clear the goal is not to inform or explore, but to tell spooky stories and scare people.

well obviously the things the actors act out might not be the exact same but are probably most likely what the other people went through. so yes for the most part it is real. and by the way i love watching that show! when is it on? i always forget...

All of the episodes are based on true stories, but how much they are embellished is unknown.  Either way, I love that show. Its my favorite.

"A Haunting" is the only show I know of that puts up the disclaimer that it is for entertainment purposes only.  What does that tell ya?

The narration may be "dramatic" for ratings but the witness testimony is true as far as the producers know. Certainly people could lie for a variety of reasons but I don't think the shows producers are asking them lie or coaching their testimony. However, the producers probably so select the most bizarre cases to air on TV.

The show "A Haunting" is suppose to be based stories and eye witness accounts from people who experienced the paranormal activity.

There are no people from discovery there during the "haunting's" they are just taking the stories and turning into an hour of television.

When the show begins there is a disclaimer that states this as well.

I believe that some of these stories may be very true, but keep in mind that this is also suppose to generate ratings so there may be some exaggerations or embellishments.

It is in fact true or to put it in a diffrent way it is  based on actual accounts and testimony. I am a member of a paranormal research team who is associated with the priest who preformed the exorcism on the episode: The Possessed in season 3. Though some artistic licensee are taken, the show stays very true to the accounts from those involved.

No, it based on the stories of real people.  However, some of the people that tell the stories may be making up some of it.  I like that show.
