this is a pretty subjective question lol.

personally, i think that the earth is a living being, simply because it's so dynamic--geomorphological processes constantly re-shape and change the earth surface, while it's also alive with all the different organisms. it affects us just as much as we affect it (:

Nope, the Earth is nonliving.  

An entity must satisfy all of the following for it to be considered alive: "They undergo metabolism, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt to their environment in successive generations."

The Earth doesn't reproduce. :)
