that would be able to tow Great Britain down into the Atlantic Ocean. I think we could slot in quite nicely just to the west of France and north of Spain. I'm sure a little bit of sunshine would improve our lives no end.

I don't believe so. Wouldn't it just be easier to shift the poles so that it would be closer to the equator? However consider the consequences; much of the eccentric British character derives from their current damp, foggy location.
