To an extent.  Depends on your circumstances.

Leave it to the Govt.  You work all your life to get it, and they stick it to you...again!

Soon they will figure out a way they can tax you every time you flush your toilet!

If the ss is your only income, no.  If you have other income also, part of the ss, up to 85% of it, can be taxable depending on your filing status and how much your other income is.
