  1. hey Julie S !!!

    Their actually called Omega-3 Fatty Acids not poly & mono.

    & YES they R good for U.

    U might think that fat is bad for U, but there's 1 kind of fat, namely, omega-3 fatty acids, that U should make every effort 2 get more of.  Found mainly in fish & seafoods, omega-3's, a collective name for a group of polyunsaturated fats that include eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoicacid & alpha-linolenic acid, play a key role in many vital body processes, from controlling blood clotting & blood pressure 2 reducing inflammation.

    They're good for:  arthritis, asthma, bursitis & tendinitis, depression, dry skin, eczema, gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hives, inflammatory bowel disease, memory problems, menstrual problems, nail problems, pallitation, prostate enlargement, psoriasis & winkles.

    I hope that this help U in some way & godd luck.

  2. Nuts and seeds. Ciao!

    and no they do no such thing. Mags! Huh!

  3. That sounds like the fats one gets from nuts.  Eating nuts will provide the good fats and help reduce body fat.  Almonds are noted for that.

  4. alone no those fats wont make ur stomach flat or burn all ur fat yes they help why u need fat in ur diet..there are two fats good and bad aka brown (good) yellow (bad) u eat these brown fats to help burn off yellow fats so u basically need to eat fat to burn fat and saturated fats arent the way to go for many bad medical reasons

  5. Its not exactly true. (poly means many and mono means one) They are better for you than trans fats but that doesn't mean they are good for you. All saturated fats can be bad for you, e. g. animal fat on meat. Unsaturated fats are not as bad, e.g. olive oil, salfflower oil.

  6. They don't necessarily slim down your tummy fat. You need a low fat diet to slim that down. Polyunsaturated fat, along with monounsaturated fat are "healthy fats," the amount of which in one's daily diet should be near 25 g (in a 2000 calorie-per-day diet).Polyunsaturated fat can be found mostly in grain products, fish and sea food (herring, salmon, mackerel, halibut), soybeans, and fish oil. Foods like mayonnaise and soft margarine may also be good sources, but nutritional facts can vary by style and brand. Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil, fish and seafood lower the total amount of LDL in the blood, which can decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease.[1] Omega-6 fatty acids in sunflower oil and safflower oil also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, but can contribute to allergies and inflammation.[citation needed]

    Some Examples of Foods containing polyunsaturated fat

        * fish

        * cereal

        * whole grain wheat

        * peanut butter

        * margarine

        * bananas

        * hemp seed
