Is this a Death threat?

a guy on the bus this morning started swearing at me, then he pulled a knife out and said how bout i slit ur thoart with my knife?' he was later searched by the school and taken into custety, was it a death threat?

Well, yes. However, you don't give enough info to give advice. What bus? School bus? Did you say anything to him before the threat? Is he a fellow student? Did you report him anonymously? I mean, if this is someone you will be around in the future, it might be better to avoid him rather than get into any further confrontations with him (like a protection order as some have suggested.)  I mean, yeah, he's a loser, and yeah, sucks this happened, but the important thing now is to protect yourself. And that means avoiding him and his friends if at all possible. Good luck and God bless.

Yes it was . That is a criminal offence as is carrying that knife.

Make a statement and press charges against him. Who the F**K does he think he is? He is mentally unstable and next time he does that, his hand might just jut forward and he'll cut someone, possibly kill them.

It's your duty to rid the streets and your school of scum like him. Teach him a proper lesson, nevermind a school one.

Yes, that was a threat and attempt of murder because he held an weapon in his hand. If he was pointing a gun toward you, he would automatically be sentenced to at least three years in jail.
