Is this a good bike?? ?

okay i got a mongoose engage bmx bike http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_1047714_pacific_cycle_20_inch_boy_engage_bicycle_reviews

and the pedal broke but i have extra pedals so should i return it and get an actual bmx bike (not department store)? or should i just replace the pedals but keep the bike? and also give your opinions on it but im on a small budget so dont say get one thats like 600 dollars or something like that

I still have my old Mongoose California from the 1980's, and I have to say that a new Mongoose just isn't as good as my 20 year-old bike. The dimensions are different (maybe improved), but they're really heavy and they feel cheap.

Maybe you could hit Craigslist and find a nice vintage bike... use your new components to replace whatever is broken or worn (why be a purist?), and then you'll have something functional and unique.

your bike is a very good beginer bike.

if you bmx aloth and you do some crazy trick's and your pretty hard on your bike, get a new one, i suggest we the people, eastern, fit, subrosa, etc...

if you just ride to school or with friend's and your easy on your bike, keep it, change the pedal and keep it.

it all depend's on what you do with your bmx.

A mongoose will last you for ever, but compared to other bikes they do not perform well. I recommend the DK Rage if your trying to stay cheap. It is $200 at www.DansComp.com. I have the Subrosa Salvador, it is light and strong. I LOVE it. You can find one for under $250 at most good online bike dealers.
