Question:

Is this a healthy dinner?

I've been eating healthy all day but i'm afraid that the dinner that my mom prepared is not healthy..

She made ratatouille (french dish) which is VERY healthy. It's just zuchinni slices, tomato sauce, and onions. But then she's planning on putting hot dogs in it. Will this kill my diet? She's putting in one of those really thick hebrew national hot dogs per person. It's probably about 250 calories for the hotdog? Is this really bad? Help!

  1. while the hot dog is really not a high quality source of protein it's a slight improvement in that meal.  meals that contain only veggies don't keep you feeling full for long and proteins increases satiety.  there are far worst thing for you than eating the occasional hot dog, enjoy your dinner!

    Edit:

it sounds like your mom could select a healthier type of hot dog, that's a lot just for one.  even still with the veggies, etc. that meal would be less than 500 cals total which isn't bad at all.

  2. Dinner is often related to a combination of knowledge, taste preferences and budget. Presuming there isn't an excessive amount of salt in the tomato sauce, her heart may be in the right place. However, she may be missing some knowledge about the fat in the Hebrew Nationals. Discuss it.

  3. Eat half a hotdog.
