I just got a call from a man complaining why his network or something was block by my domain or something. He said he can't access some website. I forgot what it's called but he said something about usa.com. I dunno. He talked very fast. It sounded like someone complaining to a phone company. But this time, he's complaining to me. I told him we dont have any domain and they he quickly said bye and hung up.

I didn't give out ANy info to him

I quickly called my dad and he said he was sure that this was a scam try to get passwords, domain name, name, etc

  1. Sounds like it might have been a scam.

If you would have said yes, you might have found that they started asking for IP addresses, port numbers e.t.c.

Could be they were fishing for someone who was not so technically knowledgeable and would give out personal information to try and 'help' them with their connection problem.

You did the right thing, never give out any information like this.

  2. Yep, if it was a random call about something you don't have then it was a scam.  Even if he would have known all of your information, don't tell him anything, just hang up.  Never give any information out over the phone when someone contacts your, just ask what company they are calling from and then tell them you will call them back.  Don't use a number they give you either, look up the companies information and contact the company to see if they did actually call you, or if it was someone soliciting for information to steal something from you.

  3. sounds like it to me sweetie.
