Is this an RBI?

Tonight in my game I was up w/the bases loaded. A curve goes to the backstop allowing the runner on 3rd to score. My friend saids as the batter at the time I'm credited w/an RBI. Am I?

Not sure if the pitch was a wild pitch or passed ball

It would be an unearned run because it was a passed ball. It is not an RBI. It would have been if you got a hit and the runner scored.

Technically, it is considered a passed ball (or wild pitch) and would not be considered an RBI.  It would be an unearned run.  

The distinction between passed ball and wild pitch is up to the official scorer.  A passed ball is usually deemed a ball the catcher should have caught without extraordinary effort, while a wild pitch typically means that the catcher would have had to make an extraordinary effort to catch the ball.

But, unless you are a professional ball player, it is how you and your team chooses to score it.

It is not an RBI  unless it was ball four. A walk with the bases loaded will get you the RBI, but not simply being the hitter when a run scores on a wild pitch or a passed ball.

No, it is not an RBI.  The run is scored as a result of a passed ball or wild pitch.  It would fall into the same category, (without the obvious passed ball or wild pitch), as a runner who steals home.  No RBI involved as well.  It is also considered an unearned run.

depending if the catcher missed it, then it could be either 1. but it is not an RBI. it means run BATTED in.
