Is this bike okay? (BMX)?

Question

Mongose hoop d team issue from WalMart. I got tis like 6 years ago and it is perfect in condition! I heard that some pros would even use this bike. Is this a high end model for Walmart? Is it high end at all. If it isnt then my dream is going down. I dont want a new one!

i am not familiar with that particular model, but any bike purchased at a department store is likely no good.

they often skimp on parts and replace aluminum and chromoly with steal.  its likely heavy, a 1 piece crank and crappy wheelset.

that doesn't mean you can't be good on it though.  just cuz your bike may suck doesn't mean it should crush your "dreams."  

you should ride to have fun at your stage, not ride to turn pro.  i raced bmx competitively around the country for 8 years, and never was close to racing as fast as the pro's.

Professionals using a bicycle from Wal-Mart? I don't think so. I'm sorry, but Wal-Mart isn't a bicycle shop, which is the only place you will get a really good bicycle from.
