Is this frog harmful?

I live in Mesa AZ. and in our back yard we get alot of lizards and frogs in the summer. tonight wile out side, my dog (weenie dog) found a frog, it is round like a golf ball with legs, it is greyish green and when my dog sniffed at it an clawed the ground around it, the frog got flat and plump. does any one know what kind of frogs are around here and if i let my dog out and she finds this frog again and decides to "play" will this frog hurt her with poision?

  2. Toads have parotoid glands behind the eyes. These glands do produce a poison designed to dissuade predators from eating them. Except for the cane toad (not found near your area) it causes no permanent damage although it tastes horrible. Most dogs only pick up toads once.

  3. i doubt it...but it's always better to be safe than sorry.  Just shoo your dog away everytime you see it playing with the frog haha
