ive been known to be hypocritical, but tell me if i am on this...

I really hate cosplaying, but i plan to for Halloween. i thought it would be ok, since everyone is wearing costumes, not just anime fans.... so, am i?

A little bit but whatever. xD I happen to love Cosplay but I'm not exactly what you would call nerdy [dancer and actor as well as fashion designer in training]

yeah i guess it is just becaue most poeple cosplay for events and halloween is a event.

No, what seperates you is that your doing it the one day of the year that everyone else dresses up. Not like the uber-geeks who do it on a weekend basis, and your not being hypocritical. This isn't a lifestyle for you afterall.

From my point of view, hypothetical would be claiming to hate cosplaying yet enjoying it's practice. You said that you'll be cosplaying because everyone else will be doing so, which means you probably just want to fit in. There is a degree of hypocrisy in your action but it doesn't change the fact that you hate cosplaying.

I'd say that if you usually wear a costume of some sort for Halloween, you wouldn't be a hypocrite if you used the occasion to engage in a bit of cosplay. If, on the other hand, you have never celebrated Halloween by wearing a costume, you would be rather hypocritical to do so now. In the long run, I don't see how it would matter to anyone except you.
