The "buy it now" price is $4000, do you think this truck would last for 40 years, for every $100 the vehicle costs it should last for one year. Meaning that for $4000 dollars, he expects this truck will last for 40 years. Do you think it would last that long or would I be wasting my money buying this truck.

Using your logic my next door neighbors $36,000 Toyota Pickup should last 360 years!

Sorry, that does not compute.

I do not think any truck will last for 40 years of daily use.

I also think you are looking at the wrong thing.  The price you pay for the vehicle is not nearly as important as the cost of operation.

For example, assuming the Silverado used $4,000 in gas per year your total cost of ownership over five years would be $29,000 (including a $1,000 per year allowance for repairs.)  If it was free it would still cost you $25,000 to own over 5 years!

Nah Chevy's ain't that good ov a truck i'd go for a mitshibishi L seris as these are good trucks if you want a bullteproof truck that will last 40 years i'd go for Toyota Hilux as these are prety indestructable truck as you may have seen if you've seen top gear.u'll be amazed at what happens, watch the video.
