  1. this is common in paint horses

  2. Nope, although rare, it does happen sometimes. I cant remember the technical term, but one of my friends used to have a horse like that named Willow.

  3. That's common with paints, some have all blue eyes too, my friend had a palomino and white overo gelding that had an eye like that.

  4. no thats not weird at all i have a paint that has both eyes half brown half blue eyes hes only 5.hes fine i think its beautiful

  5. no.... my 3 yo paint/appy hhas that too

  6. Kate Bosworth has that too.

It's called Sectoral Heterochromia.  If your horse was born with it, then it's hereditary.  Doesn't mean his parents had it, but it involves geneology; recessive/dominant genes.  If it had happened suddenly, then he probably injured his eye.

But you said he was born with it, so no worries. :)

  7. Its just something that happens with the pigment in the eye (I total am blanking on what it is called at the moment), mostly seen in paints. It's perfectly normal, although I've only seen a small handfuls of paints with that coloring in their eye. Its very pretty though!

  8. There is no problem whatsoever with your horse, although I suggest you cut down on his tv time lol. The split eye color is normal and he isn't the first paint to get it. Its as normal as a birthmark. Just as you said, he is perfectly healthy!!!

    Trust Me!

  9. Many people have something like that.

  10. Nah, don't even worry about it. I've seen huskies with this, it's as harmless as a walleye (a blue eye on a horse). It's just something unique about your horse. You could write it down as an identifying feature in case the animal is stolen.

  11. You'll find that in many paints, so no, you don't have any kind of world record holder hear. Just like with an all blue eye they can be more sensitive to sun exposure and the like. My paint mare I used to own had 1 blue eye and to help shield from that I would turn her out with a fly mask.

  12. That is so cool, by the way your horse is so beautiful. Paints sometimes have split eyes like that or they have one brown eye and the other eye will be blue. So it isn't extremely common but I don't think it is really rare either. Anyways that is a cool marking on your horse!

  13. The split eye color is common in paints.

My firend has one where both of the horses eyes are hlaf blue half brown.

The horse looks a little strange to me as it is distracting when looking at it's eyes Sort of looks like she is looking both directions at once.

She is a nice mare and also very healthly with no sight issues just split eye color.
