Notes

By Cynthia S.

I complete my nurses notes

checking observations of

heartbeats and of throats.

I thought that on this morning

it would be a very good time,

until I realize, with shock

I’ve written them in rhyme.

(Will my supervisor approve?)

  1. Once you start you just can't stop...rhyming is like Jay's potato chips!

    Ferry funny little ditty!

  2. LOL - that's very funny.  Once a poet, always a poet.

  3. Hysterical. I wrote a poem for the top brass of my company once describing an Open Day we had. She sent it off to the CEO instead of her fortnightly report. LOL So it does happen.

Poetry in the workplace is mandatory and should be encouraged! It should be ok as long as all the basic medical jargon and figures are there too. well done!

Yes it is OUR fault that happened. Your patients are lucky to have you. Any chance of you promotinng "Writing for Rehab" as a post op treatment course for the patients?

  4. it is my observation that most medical personnel think  rhyming is made  up of two lines . and they go like this

    I am sick

    of being sick.

    or

    do you feel ill?

    here have a pill.

    or

    Hey there Fred.

    Can I make your bed?

    or

    Hows your head?

    Well you don"t look dead.

    your poem is excellent!

  5. No

  6. This is cute!

    Is it the truth?

  7. She'll be too busy to notice, but we approve.

  8. Doctor...please

    no more tease

    tell me, tell me now

    I must really know

    aren't nurse/poets nice

    with words to entice

    even rhyming too

    notes for your view!

  9. As long as you say nothing negative about your supervisor or write your poetry notes on the patients chart there shouldn't be a problem.

Now in the same thought........don't be writing your notes if the patient is coding......................

  10. Show it to him/her and see what reaction you get.

Your next poem can be called "What it's like to be on the dole queue"
