  1. How many of us could be mistaken for something or someone else.

Ha ha, none of us would dare to come out of our houses!!!!

  2. I saw it in action in the late 70s, problem was, wrong information, wrong man, and wrong house. Admittedly this was mob action rather than vigilantes, but an ugly and dangerous situation, and the unfortunate landlord and tenants of that house lost nearly every window. Of course the unfortunate victim was never innocent again, he probably moved away. I was living about four houses away.

  3. Yes, but only in limited circumstances. It can be used if there is a clearly inconsistency between what law enforcement is doing and what the community expects. Any major acts may be followed by new laws to bring law enforcement back towards what the community expects.

  4. Yes vigilante action is perfectly justifiable in my eyes. If the law/courts wont dish out punishment that fits the crime then you have to expect people to take the law into their own hands. I know i sure as h**l would, if i didn't receive justice.

  5. No - but with the way this government is letting us down it might be the only recourse open to us in the dim and distant future!  With the exception of Gary Glitter - him and those like him should be made an outcast with no rights at all and no repercussions for anyone who gives him what he gave those poor kids!

  6. No, if every one takes  this approach then the world would come to an end, people would take justice into there own hands and there would be allot of tragedies and blood shed, thats why we need laws  the police and the judicial system, good-luck.

  7. Lynchings are usually based upon prejudice and circumstantial evidence. Only the judicial system can look to the evidence and examine it in a fair and unbiased fashion. Or, that is the point of the legal system, but as we all know innocence can be purchased. Our institutions have become corrupted and one day we will have to put them back in order.

  8. never... as they frequently get it wrong... like when then burn down the house of a pediatrician because they are too stupid to know that doesn't mean kiddie fiddler

  9. I don't believe many people act as vigilantes unless someone has done something personal to them. If someone hurt my kids I can't honestly say I would leave it up to the courts to sort things out. I have no faith in the justice system. It seems criminals have more rights than the victims.

  10. NO.

However my OH assures me if it was OUR daughter, he would exert his own punishment.

I wouldn't do anything unless personally involved.

Having said that, if I knew my OH was planning something I would probably feel uncomfortable for all sorts of reasons, he could lose his job etc.

Sara Payne (mum of Sarah) actually told the Police that Mike had bought a gun, and was planning to shoot Roy Whiting at his pre trial hearing.

What's best? Whiting dead, yes, but Mike Payne serving life? I don't think so.

    Good question Skidoo.

  11. What happens if the vigilantes get it wrong? Do we end up setting vigilantes on vigilantes?

  12. We are already ruled by Mobs, and the Police  have their hands tied due to these goody two shoes people. It is time before we end up in a completely anarchist state that the Police take control again , before we are a Country of hoodlums who rule the roost. We used to live in an idyllic Country but not now due to this *correct* ruling. Why should we have to walk about on tip toe in case we upset these people who have invaded our Country... and yes that is what has happened. ! Plus why cannot everyone live in their own Country instead of invading ours. Having read the News today the thought is mind boggling, and there is no end to it.

  13. No.  Remember that paediatrician who was attacked a few years ago when people thought she was a paedophile?

Tabloids don't tell ME what to do.

  14. no

not unless you want to live in lawless chaos

personally id rather not live in dewsbury

  15. no to vigilantes its usually yobs , low-life , scum , and riff-raff who participate in this behaviour  and they are usually partly illiterate , and thichos  let the law deal with law breakers

  16. Hi Skidoo!

Hmmm....very tongue in cheek aren't you today?!

Of course not, the law cannot & should not be scrapped & replaced with the murky tabloids that reek of witch hunts & lynch mobs.

  17. no, but it is very satisfying anyway.

  18. I think everyone over the age of 12 should be able to strap on a colt 45 and play cowboy for real.

  19. That's whats called mob law. Is that really what you want.? You can certainly count me out.
