Question:

It's a BOY! Name advice??

We just found out yesterday that we are having a boy (our 1st child)! We both really like the name Liam. We were thinking Liam Patrick, Liam John, or Liam Riley. The thing is, when we've told some people the name idea they get a weird look because the name is kinda uncommon. Do you think our son would be made fun of or that Liam is just too weird a name? I know it's ultimately up to us.. just wanted some feedback! thanks!

  3. its both of you to pick the best name.better you combine the name you pick and also to your partner he picked so choose the right name that you think that is fit for you child.have a nice day.

    Gerry

  4. if you like it then yeah...but to my opinion (no offense) i say that children might tease him about his name...im so sorry if i have hurt u though

  5. i think he will love this name because his family choose it for him so if i was him i will be so happy and he got a special name

  6. Don't name him Liam, he will be teased for having a girly name. Name him Jesus. He WILL get respect.

  7. If ur kid is super-cool then he can handle the name.  Unfortunately, I think kids would make fun of him .  Plus people will mispronounce it throughout life.  Maybe consider Liam as a middle name.  Good Luck.

  8. I know a few Liams. None of them get teased.

Dont listen to anyone here, if you want to name your baby boy Liam, go for it. :D

Oh and by the way i like Liam Riley :)

  9. Strangely, I know I few people with the name Liam. I don't think it's as uncommon as you think. I think Liam is a great name. And, lets be honest, there will be kids with stranger names, especially in this day and age. :)

I think that if you want to name your baby Liam, then you should.  The name is not so unusual anymore.  According to this site it was the 89th most popular boy's name of 2007 (out of the top 1,000). The site says it's source is the Social Security Administration.

I like Liam Patrick - it just seems to flow well.  Good luck on your naming journey.  It is NOT easy!  You're right in thinking of their future and how their name will effect them. We are expecting twins in February and we have NO idea what to name them.  Hopefully when we find out what they are it will be easier. It seems like we have gone through the whole list.
