  1. get someone to put a bid in and then watch it go up...

    good luck.

  2. how much you selling it for?? ill buy it lol if its cheap enough.

thats why they watching it see how much it goes for

  3. they will wait till the last 30 seconds to bid

  4. get a friend to put a fake bid on and see what happens.

  5. Just because you have watchers .. doesn't mean you will get bidders. Some people watch what "the market movers" are with a view to selling their own ... but as others have suggested, they may be hanging on until the last ten minutes to make a bid ... the fireworks usually start in the last two minutes, so don't despair.

In these situations where you're a little anxious ...wouldn't it be a less stressful option to set a reserve price .. I know eBay stings us for fees but sometimes it's worth it to be stress free.

    Good luck with the sale.

  6. nobody wants to be the first bidder, it encourages others to do it and therefore the price goes up, i bet you'll have loads of bids on it in the last 24 hours, when the price will inevitably go up loads anyway :P good luck with it !

  7. they will be looking to see what the bidding is standing at and may be watching a few items.

Nearer the closing date you should see bids being put in as other auctions close, more and more bidders are holding off until the last minute.

  8. maybe your item is getting no bids as you have started the price too high? Or is there a reserve?

Other reasons could be that you are a new ebayer with a low feedback rating, although everyone has to start somewhere, people prefer to buy from experienced sellers.

Make sure your item has some good quality photos and you describe it in lots of detail.

Offer different rates of postage (standard, recorded etc) so they can chose what best suits them.

Most of the people watching are just browsing in my opinion, or it could be they have a dslite for sale and want to see what the going rate is for it.

Ive stopped selling on ebay due to timewasters and the fact that ebay rip you off completely with charges!

Why not put a free ad on gum tree or somewhere? That way even if it doesnt sell, you dont lose out!

    Good luck!

  9. Sell your Nintendo DS Lite on MarketWall:

    http://marketwall.com

MarketWall is free, so you don't have to pay any fees even if it doesn't sell.

  10. Maybe you're charging too much or aren't advertising it well in the description and title.

If it's not finished yet, I've had things sell in the last few minutes with no bids before hand, some people seem to play ebay like they do poker.

  11. lifes a b***h. it annoys me too.people watching them and they they seem to forget to bid right at the end of auction.whats the point of watching?

  12. That happens a lot--- usually bidders wait for the last minute to start bidding.

  13. It bugs me too when people put things up for sale then complain when people don't buy it.

The reason they are watching the item is to compare it against other items that are for sale or watching the price. Think of it as a shortlist. It doesn't just happen on eBay, it happens everywhere.

Just because someone "watches" your item doesn't make them obliged to buy it.
