Italian orphan who became a prince?

A few years ago there was a story in a newspaper about a man who inherited a Italian noble title(prince or count) from a aunt or someone who adopted him as he was a orphan and he inherited a huge art collection and a castle/palace in Italy. Can anyone recall the story and please give me more details/names?

His name is Toto and he was the best Italian comedian/actor of all times. He was from Naples and although, it has never been proven that he was "a noble man" he was always referred to as "the orphan who was from a noble family".
