Hey guys, i am going to visit Rome in a month or so and i am really looking forward for two things that i need some help with right now. I want to buy some Art Accessories (paint brushes, palettes, pencils, pastels etc), so i want to know the BEST shop to buy these Art accessories in Rome. Second thing i want to know is where can i eat the BEST PASTA in Rome? Thanks VERY MUCH for any help!

  1. I can't help with the art supplies, but the pasta is really good anywhere.  The prices get higher as you get closer to the tourist attractions.  It's pretty safe, just stay clear of the dark alleys.  The only place you wouldn't want to walk around at night is Naples.

  2. this is an impossibel question, i think.

no bad pasta in rome (exept for touristic menu and restourant) and a lot of shop to buy brushes and other.

i usually go to a shop not in the centre of the city, it is on via nomentana, there are two of them, (first stop of the bus after Piazza sempione, you can take the 60 in via xx settembre) or there is one near Piazza Vittorio, but i can't remember the name of the street

    :)

In this period is really safe to walk at 9.00 but try to avoid place like termini station, because you are a tourist and there are many robber, howver nor armed one, i think, pay attention expecially to child, for you wallet

then, to spend the night like a roman, you can go to Circo Massimo, where young people often plays  bongos and something like that if you like or if you are more 'calm' you can go to the rome night festival near the Olympic stadium or have a walk near castel sant'angelo, where there isa nother festival or go to Ponte milvio, where you can have a 'grattachecca' a characteristic icescrape whit syrup or the same in the trastevere bridge

    :)

hope you will enjoy your trip

    :)

    bye

  3. It depends on where in Rome you stay. If you're by Termini Station, then no, but otherwise, it's usually safe.

  4. If you arrive on the 8th of September, you're in luck. The 8th is a "white night" in Rome - a lot of the museums stay open all night as do restaurants, shops, etc. There are a number of special events around the city and public transportation is free after 10 pm.

On other nights, you should stay in well-lit areas.

I don't know if this is the best, but you might consider: Ditta Poggi (Pantheon) for art supplies - they also have a store in Trastavere

For the best pasta, avoid the restaurants that are right at the main attractions. You can usually walk three or four blocks away and find excellent local places. Angelino ai Foro Largo has good homemade pastas - the address is 40/43a Corrado Ricci. It's close to the Museo del Presepio between the colosseum and Trajan's column. La Carbonara (214 Via Panisperna) is also very good and is in the same general vicinity - a little further from the Colosseum).

  5. for art supplies:

    art accessories:

    vertecchi: via della croce (http://www.vertecchi.com/start.htm)

    futuragrafica: via merulana

best pasta: da francesco or la montecarlo , both near piazza navona

    ciao

    Alessandro

  6. There is no bad pasta in Rome.

You may receive an apology for old tomatoes in the sauce.

In Naples, the tomatoes are picked the same morning but in Rome and elsewhere, they are 24 hours old by the time they are received.

    LOL

    IDK about art.
