Itunes help asap?

ok i need help.

a little while ago my computer got messed up and everything got deleted but thankfully i had a back up folder with my stuff

but the thing is that when i plug in my ipod it dosent pop up..

only a list that says open with windows media play

open with folder

and a few other options..

whats wrong with my itunes and how do i fix it..

i got a newer versoin of quick time cuz thats what it aked for and still its not working

Take a deep breath....okay, a few questions for you and I'll try to help (not an expert, but I am the iTunes and iPod fixer person for my entire family!!)

Alright, the first guys was right, when in doubt, re-install.  But first, try opening your iTunes before you plug in your pod.  If it doesn't pop up on iTunes at all, then your program got messed up.  (Happened to my dad to, it's not that uncommon if your working on a PC)

First you need to uninstall the iTunes you've got on there.

(Uninstalling on Windows XP:

On a Mac:

Just drag the application to the trash

Next, Go to http://apple.com/itunes/download

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR COMPUTER MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS (my sister's didn't have enough memory and she just kept trying to download it!!)

Download the latest version of iTunes...it should be pretty painless, if your computer is coming up with error msgs. check out http://apple.com/support

There are LOTS of resources there!!

After you install iTunes, RESTART your computer!!  It won't work right otherwise!! (BTW make sure you restart your computer anytime you install a program)

If it's STILL not working, I would need more info, or you could check out the apple support site I mentioned earlier.

Sounds like you have to reinstall Itunes.
