  1. I have had Mirena since Aug 07 and there are good and bad things.  I have been doing tons of research about the mirena becuase I have had some problems that I beleive are from it.  Bad side effects for me are:  I have acne that is the worst i have ever had in my life, it is on face, back, neck, and chest and sometimes my a**.  My hair is thinning, takes forever to have o****m, feel tired all the time, have pains in my hand and foot that feels like arthritis, I cramp in tummy and back 2 weeks out of the month, I still ovulate so if I do get a fertilized egg the mirena is aborting it (some ovulate still some dont), bleed for 2 months straight when I first got it, can't use tampons, my tummy is bloated all the time, I felt sick everyday for the first 7 months (really sick like pregnant sick), shoulder pains, gas

The Pro's are that :  I have very light periods, i don't have to worry about taking a pill or inserting anything etc to be protected, I lost weight (not typical, most women gain anywhre from 6-60 pounds)  Don't have to spend tons of money on feminin products.

The Mirena is a personal choice for every women and one women may love it while the next will say it was not for them, in my case I am going to get it out asap and go back to a pill.  which really was not bad compared to what I feel right now.  There are some sites you may want to look at before making a decision on this thing, if I researched it more and knew what I know now i never would have got it in.  Good luck!
