  1. First off, DO NOT GET PROTIEN SHAKES, unless you get them from a special store. Many contain animal protiens. Try eating more protiens. You can eat beans, nuts, seeds, eggs, and dairy. Try drinking skim milk, it has protien and no fat. If you are feeling weak, you should definatly see a doctor.

  2. It will pass i have been off meat over 30+ years ,you can buy soya mince this is nice has you can make burgers, shepherds pies etc with it, and tufu is nice to make stir frys, eat plenty of veggies and fruits. have a salads and in the winter add pulses, grains, etc to your stews this will give you energy and fibre in your diet. stick at it you will feel the benfits as soon as your system has got used to not eating meat, i eat plenty of fish.

  3. umm i was a vegatarian for a whole year and i felt great i think i had a lot more energy.

maybe its just you i would eat something protein richful like beans or peanuts. eat extra fruit and extra veggies maybe that will help. get a multi-vitamin also or go to one of your organic stores and see if they have vitamins there. good luck

  4. A couple of ideas for you., if you want more add me as a contact.

3 beans casserole,  1/2 the recipe for 3 portions.

test out different beans the flavours vary so much.

    1 onion, med, chopped

    3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

    4 sticks celery, thinly sliced

Olive oil, about 1/4 inch in bottom of large sauce

3 rounded tsp vegi bouillion, or 3 vegi stock cubes

2 tsp parsley or basil dried  or large handful of fresh finely chopped

    Can/jar chickpeas

    Can/jar  kidney beans

    Can/jar  Any variety you like

    Tin chopped tomatoes

    tomatoe passata

1/2 tsp hot paprika for a little spice, or black pepper to taste

    4 medium potatoes

Grated cheese as much as you like.

Over a low heat the oil and add the garlic onion and celery cover with lid and sweat for 3 or 4 mins,

Add dried parsley, bouillion and seasoning stir through the mixed veg, add all the beans, stir through, add chopped tomatoes and passata, stir, bring to the boil and reduce to a simmer for 20 mins. There is no salt as the bouillion is salty if after cooking you want to add some then just stir in a good pinch.

Stir now and then as this can stick if your temp is a bit high,

    Put into large casserole dish.

Peel and slice 1/4 inch potatoes, par boil for 4/5 mins. Drain and  cover the bean mix.

Top with loads of grated cheese.

Bake in med oven for 25 mins.

This dish reheats well in the mic, make sure its covered though.

    **************************************...

Vegi stew.  All veg chopped 1"

2/3 Potatoes, skin on. New are best.

    Swede

    4/5 Carrots

    Medium onion

    2 sticks celery

    1 leek

    jar chickpeas

    2 rounded tablespoons vegi bouillion

    tsp vegimite, pinch salt

    Pepper,

    Vegi gravy mix

    3 oz vegi suet

6 oz s.r. flour, pinch salt

Mix the bouillion with about 1 pint water bring to boil, add vegimite, stir till dissolved, add all veg return to the boil, season. Simmer for 20 mins.  I cook this earlier in the day leave to go cold and the next stage I do when it time to eat.

Make dumplings, mix together suet and flour with about 5 tblsp of water, it needs to stick together but not be sticky on your fingers when finished. you may need more water.

Bring the veg stew back to boil, pop in the dumplings and simmer for 20 mins. Remove dumplings to plates and thinken stew with vegi gravy mix.

  5. I felt sickkk as c**p after the first month or 2 of become a full vegetarian, and so I started taking vegetarian vitamins (chews, NOT pills because they contain gelatin.).. and yeah. I noticed after taking 2 a day (they have 1 a day chews, too.. lol) I felt better almost immediately.

The best vitamins to get (because they don't taste bad... actually they taste kind of good...) would be Pioneer brand Vegetarian Chewable Vitamin Mineral. They taste like candy!

  6. Congrats on going veg!

First, make sure you're getting enough calories. If you feel hungry or weak a lot, you're probably just not eating enough food. Make sure you're not eating mostly low-calorie foods like salads / vegetables. Your diet should include a variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains.

Here are some vegetarian foods that are high in protein, iron, and calcium: http://www.tryveg.com/cfi/toc/?v=08sourc...

    Hope this helps.

  7. eat lots of beans and peanuts and sprouts and also increase ur intake of fruits n vegetables.

    use some multi vitamin supplement.

  8. The only way you would get sick is if you don't eat healthy.  Meat does not make you healthy..a balanced diet does.  You say you have been a vegetarian for 3 months and you are just now asking "What do I eat"?

Have you googled "vegetarian recipes"?   There are thousands and thousands of them.

    Here are some sample meals:

    1. Whole wheat pasta tossed with marinara sauce

    2. Vegetable stir fry over brown rice

    3. Veggie omelet

    4. Vegetarian chili, tacos

    5. Vegetarian stuffed peppers

You can pretty much make any dish vegetarian by changing an ingredient or 2.

  9. I'm not a vegetarian, but make sure you are getting enough protein.  Also, pick up a multi-vitamin supplement if you aren't taking one to cover anything you might be missing in your daily diet.

  10. no one gets sickif u have stopped eating nonveg. Its onlyin the mind but as u are a veg now eat high protien foods which will make up for the nonveg.and u get tabs for up keep of energy consult thr dr

  11. definitely get some protein shakes and iron pills. You should really ask your doctor for the best tips.

  12. Just because you stopped eating meat, making you a vegetarian, doesn't not necessarily mean that you are eating healthy! What do you eat then? Do you eat vegetables? Do you eat frut? Are you eating legumes? How about enough carbohydrates? You have to remember that a piece of meat is a lot of calories, and you have just taken away those calories. So you need to replace those calories with extra food of what you are eating. I know that I need to add more olive oil to my diet because the fat is not there anymore (and essential fatty acids in oil are needed to stay healthy!). You also have to make sure you are eating vegetables (lightly sauteed or even raw is best) and fruit, and not just refined carbohydrates (white flour baked goods, white sugar soda pop and junkfood, and trans fat snacks).

Look at what you are eating and ask if this is good enough to fuel my body that is going to carry me for over a hundred years (if I am lucky!) of life? It is good that you have chosen to not eat meat, but make sure that what you do eat is healthy and not just processed foods.
