JVC everio problems?

I have a JVC Everio camcorder and for some reason the battery doesn't work...when I try to charge it, the red charging light flashes for a minute, but then it goes off...the camera works, however, when I connect it to the outlet and turn it on... How do I get the battery to charge? I even tried leaving it overnight while it was on/off and connected to the outlet, nothing helps! Please help!

the problem could lie in one of several areas: the charger, the camera, or the battery itself. I'd suggest replacing the battery as a start (you said that it flashes for a minute and then goes off, that's usually an indication of a dead battery), and if that doesn't solve the problem, get a technician to look over the camera and its charger.
