  1. he wont get traded

  2. He signed a 4 year contract with the Chargers, and I think he'll play out that entire contract before he possibly heads to another team in free agency.  The Chargers don't ever do much trading.

Hester was technically drafted as a running back, but it looks like he'll get more playing time at fullback for the Chargers.  Hester is currently competing for the starting fullback role (against Andrew Pinnock) and possibly also for the backup running back role (against Darren Sproles).  I think that LT and Sproles will get most of the RB carries during the regular season, but I expect Hester to get most of the playing time at fullback.

I think Hester will develop into a great weapon from the fullback spot, like Mike Alstott except maybe even better.  If the Chargers are smart, they'll give Hester a decent number of fullback carries and also use him as an outlet receiver to spread the field.

  3. he wont get traded as the chargers really like him and need him to backup LT and play a little full

  4. he will be there fullback he's pretty big.

  5. He was drafted as a RB. He's a bit small to be a true blocking FB. Essentially he was brought in as Michael Turners replacement. At this point behind LT you have Hester, Darren Sproles (he's fast, fast, fast, just very small), and most likely Marcus Thomas who they drafted this yr out of UTEP.

I could see them lining Hester up at FB  on occasion (he and Andrew Pinnock in the same backfield would be a couple of bruisers) to give defenses different look now and then, but their primary intent was to use him in a Mike Alstott type of role.

Barring some great production in relief of LT I don't see the demand for Hester in a trade being that high. I would kind of compare his skill set to Anthony Thomas in that he's pretty much a North-South runner, he's capable, but unlikely to be feature back material due to a lack of breakaway speed.

He & Sproles are kind of going to be a 1-2 punch in the back up spot. Sproles is more of a 3rd down back/ situational player due to his expolsive speed, but far too small to be a 25 carry guy if LT got hurt. but Marcus Thomas could be a pleasant suprise too he was very productive at UTEP.
