Butch James out until NovemberBath Rugby and South Africa fly-half Butch James will be out of the game until November after having surgery on his right shoulder. The influential 31-year-old picked up the shoulder injury during South Africa's Tri-Nations match against Australia last month. The surgery has stabilised the damaged area of shoulder, which will prevent James from training for six weeks.Bath head coach Steve Meehan said: "It is always frustrating to lose a player of Butch's influence. But we will make sure he receives the best care and attention to get him back with the squad as and when he's ready."The news will be a blow to everyone at Bath who would have hoped that James would play a key role in the club's Premiership campaign. Sam Vesty will continue at fly-half until James is able to compete for a place in the squad.A massive influenceJames is arguably the most powerful player in Bath Rugby club. He is well built and very quick across the central areas of the pitch. He is a key figure in Bath's attack and one of the most creative players in the team.James' kicking ability is important when Bath plays counter attacking rugby. He is good at picking out a player on the other side of the p-tch with a forward kick. This means Bath can go from defence to attack in no time. He is the best chip-kicker in the club and can take all penalties and conversions. His experience will be a huge loss. James has played 35 times for South Africa and has scored 146 points in the process. He is one of the very few South Africans to have had an extended run in the team under the leadership of Peter de Villiers.Betting adviceJames will be a huge loss for the side but Vesty has come in and done very well so far this season. Bath looks the most complete rugby team in England at the moment so back the side to win the league. James will only enhance the club's chances of glory when he returns.
