No disrespect to Jason Eaton ( pigdog ) but the All Black captain is something earned not given willy nilly. A captain of any team has to be the best player in his/her position, and be an automatic selection week in week out. Do you think Jason is better than say ""Ali Williams""?. The role of the All Black captain is probably more important  than the priminster in New Zealand and I think we have a great captain in Richie Megaw injured or not he is the best openside flanker in NZ if not the world, Rodney is doing a good job in his absence and commands respect of both players and spectators.

So back to your question, do you think Jason Eaton even watched the All Black test, being the 5th,6th,or even 7th lock of preference, do you think he'd want to be captain of a team he can't even make the reserves of. My bet is Jason would rather watch paint dry than watch the All Blacks under the present coaching staff. Good luck in getting back up the pecking order Jason!.

No way. To be a captain you should be consistently be showing leadership skills and traits, things that I don't think I've ever seen Jason Eaton display. Good player - definitely, but captain - No.

He wont be made captain until he learns how to maintain personal hygiene and look decent. i doubt he'll ever be made captain anyway. I wouldnt make him captain if I was coach

Bout time someone else realised the true potential of this beast of a man! Ive made the same suggestion before at some stage, but that was based purely on the beard and starsh he had and the fact he plays for the mighty Naki. We need a captain with a manly beard and a face only a mother could love. The current overpaidlattedrinking vaincosmoreading probablyneverseenasheep in theirselfindulgedprettyboylives bunch spend way too much time in front of the mirror. They need some personal grooming tips from either Mr Eaton himself or Chuck Norris. Its common knowledge that the best captains have facial hair, Richie plays well with stubble, imagine his performance with a decent beard or even a virile looking mo. Bring on Eaton and bring back the repulsive.

If Eaton couldn't make the Ab's on the back of a poor showing in Super 14 how the h**l did Boric? And O'Neill? Looks like they are reverting back to the selection methods involving a hat with a bunch of names in it. Eaton should be there, and when he grows a bit of facial fungus again he should be made captain. Makes Matfield look like a newborn.

No Way !!!! he probraly should be in the team but not as captain - but judging on how Graham Henry picks his players its not off the cards ...I mean Borich, Thompson, Kevin O Neil (there was a reason he couldn't make the Canterbury team and had to move to Waikato) these guys got exposed big time tonight against the boks as wannabes
