Jason Spezza rumors?

I read an article which rumored that the Kings were looking to send a package for Spezza , this along with the Spezza for Luongo rumor that came around this past deadline, got me thinking, are they really trying to move Spezza even though they locked him up for 7 years, or is this just the media running wild.

I am not surprised to hear about Spezza and the Kings but it is most likely not true.  Both the Kings and Senators need a goalie and Spezza could be used to trade for that.  I have heard mixed stories about Spezza trade rumors but I don't think many are true at all.

They just sound like rumors... In a media scrum, GM Murray denied them, basically questioning where the media comes up with all this talk....

Spezza for Luongo?! Even if there were to be a good package sent to Vancouver, I can't see the Canucks parting ways with Roberto...

I would have to think it is the media running wild.  

Even though I seriously doubt it will happen, I could see a situation where Spezza went to the Kings.  The Kings have a lot of young talent they could cough up.  Not to mention they could handle his salary.  

I still seriously doubt it will happen.  Unless Anze Kopitar was part of the deal Ottawa would not have a serious center to roll out with Heatley and Alffy.  Fisher and Vermette would not be sufficient replacements as the top line C in my opinion.

There has been speculation brewing since last year that Spezza would be traded. Spezza for Luongo is not a good deal for Vancouver, so I doubt that would happen.

A deal to LA would not be bad for either team. LA could give up guys like Kopitar or Cammelari if they want a bonified star in Spezza, or a package deal of say Brown/O'Sullivan.

Ottawa also may be floating Spezza's name to LA in hopes of landing that #2 pick in the draft.  That's my best bet right there.
