  1. if you can't hear the fuel pump running you KNOW its fuel related, as a second check you can have a friend crank it while you spray a little starter fluid in the air intake, if it fires up with the can being sprayed you know your ignition is basically sound

Put a fuel pressure gauge (15$ from autozone) on the schraeder style valve (looks like a tire valve) on the fuel rail and turn the key to IGN ,if the pump and regulator are working you should have about 45psi. If not  ,disconnect the pump's electrical harness and use jumper wires to manually apply 12 volts to it. if it still doesn't run replace the pump, if it runs but has low pressure check the filter or regulator, If it reads 45 psi you know its the fuel pump relay, finding out what is keeping the fuel pump relay from turning on is VERY complicated and should be left to a shop since it can involve the ECM (main brain of the car's ignition and fuel injection system) sensing a fault and not allowing electricity to the pump.

  2. Your Jeep need new fuel pump.

    Or need new fuel filter.

    Or injectors need cleaning.

First get a bottle of fuel system cleaner and add to fuel tank when you fill up fuel tank and thake a long distance trip to burn out all the scumb. You need to do that 2 times a year at least and once a month is even better.

  3. It's been trying to tell you it needed a tune up ever since it started getting hard to start.  Sounds like your fuel pump went bad.  Any mechanic can test the pressure of the fuel at the rail and verify if it is the fuel pump.  You would also do good to replace the fuel filter.  These newer fuel-injected engines won't take the abuse and negligence that the older carburetted engines did.

  4. Could be the fuel pump not holding enough pressure to run jeep, i had a 1992. if you never replaced it its due, and as it gets older it loses pressure capacity for fuel injectors.

Replace fuel pump, first check Distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires, but if they are good then replace fuel pump.

  5. replace the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
