do jersey transit buses run on july 4th from the port authority on a regular or reduced schedule or don't run at all

I don't think they run at a reduced rate ...  what you want depends on when you're leaving Port Authority ...  for that you have to check the bus schedule on njtransit.com ...  they have exactly what you need, it's a very well run website
