Question:

Jet Blue airfare reschedule/cancellation fee?

I was wondering if anyone would know if there was a way around paying the reschedule/cancellation fee of $100 for JetBlue. I actually just want to schedule for an earlier flight that day, but they will still charge me $100/person for the change. Has anyone been able to speak to someone who can either waive or decrease the fee amount?

  1. There was a supervisor rescheduling customers tickets and waiving the fee but she got fired.

  2. You would be able to stand by at no additional charge for the flight right before yours, but if you want a confirmed seat there's no way to do it but to pay the change fee (plus any applicable difference in fare).

With their costs spiraling because of fuel, airlines are becoming less and less generous with waiving fees.  Long story short, I wouldn't hold your breath.

If you decide to change the flight, I would do it as quickly as possible since there is not only the change fee but also the difference in fare to consider.  The longer you wait, the greater the likelihood that your fare bucket will sell out or be unavailable, pushing you into a higher fare.

    Good luck!
