What historical reason or otherwise would explain why it seems there are a disproportionate number of Jewish people in the film industry?

  1. Talent maybe.


  2. It dates back to the start of the movie era.  back then, being involved in movies/the theatre was seen as a lower class knd of thing- people involved were on the fringes of society, not accepted by the "upper" classes.  Jews, already excluded, had nothing to loose by going into the movie business- after all, in the early parts of the 20th century clubs and societies not allowing Jews to be members was the norm, so what did the Jews care if people ostracised them for yet another thing?

    So, a lot of the early studios were started by Jews- and many other shave followed in their footsteps.

  3. They control the industry because they are the producers who provide the funding to make the recordings! When one group has that much capital that they can take chances with investments such making a movie, it indicates the massive and disproportionate wealth that group has available! Why should they care they are gambling with other peoples monies not their own!

  4. I think they have a historic strong family values that creates strong intelligent successful people in general. The creme rises to the top, and they have risen to the top of many other industries too
