Question:

Jews in Arab governments?

I just read that Bahrain has appointed a Jewish woman as their ambassador to the US. She was the only Jewish woman in Bahrain's government and is the first Jewish ambassador from an Arab country. Are there any other Arab governments with Jews?

  1. USA.

    My 2 cents.

  2. Yes, Egypt and Jordan.

ps: I'm from Bahrain, I never heard of that :/

  3. I think Uncle Sam in reverse is saying it's a blatant act of propaganda designed to snow the libs who rail against "Apartheid Walls" and think al-Arabiyah is fair and balanced.

  4. - Egypt

    - Jordan

    - Israel (although most Israelis are immigrants, the natives--the Jews as well as the Christians and Muslims--are Arab)

  5. In Marocco

André Azoulay is a senior adviser to King Mohammed VI of Morocco. He previously advised Mohammed's father, King Hassan II.

    In Iran

Although many Jews hold jobs in government ministries or within state-owned firms, they say they are unlikely to rise to top positions. In addition, Iran's strict Islamic law, or ''sharia,'' contains many discriminatory provisions toward non-Muslims.

In most Arab countries Jews can practice their religion but are not allowed to hold jobs in government.

  6. Most Arab governments are not democratically elected therefore it is impossible for them to be in government. Bahrain is an exception, it has a constituional monarchy.

BTW Houda Nonoo went to Secondary school (boarding school) in England. I was at the same school a few years later.
