Question:

Jobs for a BS in Nursing?

I graduated in 2004 with a BS in Nursing. After college, I decided NOT to immediately pursue nursing because I wanted to travel, gain life experience, and enjoy my 20's before I settled down into a career. Now that 4 years have past, I am ready to begin my career, but I am having trouble starting to do this. I went on an interview at a hospital, and was told to come back when I have experience. How can I get experience if no one will hire me? I thought I was doing a good thing by taking my time, and not pursuing a career until i was ready, but now I'm not so sure. Should I just give up on finding a nursing position? What other types of jobs would I be qualified for?

Any insight would be appreciated.

  1. would you consider starting out as a CNA. did you work at all for those 4 years? There are Nursing and CNA jobs at PureMedicalJobs.com and some may not require previous experience. good luck

  2. A nursing home should take you. It would be best to start there since you have been out of school 4 years without working anyway. Or you could become a military nurse. No expereience is needed for that.

  3. Have you considered taking a nursing refresher course? That is probably your best bet at this point.
