  1. the right size and weight

yes under 105  Bugs boys race at 105 so you have to include saddle and boots silks etc

    quarter horse's 110

The ""silks"" belong to the owner or trainer , they pick  the colors and diesigns on them

great ,, it fast and very exciting for the jockey ,,

riding race horses There is nothing like it ,,

  2. First of all it is very tough to be a jockey.

    1. Size: Height and Weight-110 max with 5''8'

    2. Comit: Most jockeys eat for the taste after they eat they regergatate there food.

    3. Nerves: You can't think about falling off, or getting pushed.

You don't need any silks they are provided and the trainer will tell you how to run the race

  3. you need to be small, light (105 to 115lbs), brave, physicaly strong, and if youre still young (16 yrs to 23yrs ) you need to be mentally mature. its a very serious job with huge responsibilities.

the colours(silks) they wear actually belong to the horses owners. each owner has a different combination of colours, patterns, etc. the jockey puts on a different set of silks for every horse he is riding.

when the race begins the jockey has lots to think about all at once. eg,safety of other jockeys and horses, position in race, how the horse is travelling etc.
