  1. Interesting machup.  I believe that Joe using his bobbing and weaving would make Shavers miss a lot of his potent power punches, work his way inside where he would do damage with his great left hook.  Shavers would land some and shake Joe up with some power shots but Shavers would not be able to follow up.  Joe would keep bearing in and keep on the inside where he's the most dangerous.  Finally in the 7th round, Joe would land a left hook flush on Shavers chin and win via knockout.

  2. Any guy with the amount of power Shavers had stands a chance of knocking any man on the planet out. At the same time Joe was powerful too and had the best left hook in the history of boxing. And i don't see this fight going more than 7 rounds maximum.

I slightly lean towards Frazier because although he found it hard fighting against big powerful fighters who were willing to trade i think Shavers had a suspect chin. I see the fight going with both fighters having traded leather through out most of it and Shavers having knocked Frazier down in the 3rd but at the same time Shavers looking like he can't take much more were as Joe's face is bruised and swelling up bad from walking onto a lot of punches but still looking like he has something left in the tank. As the fight goes into the fifth round Frazier is able to connect with his left hook and sends Earnie down for the 10 count in a short but action -packed fight.

  3. Ernie Shavers had one of most heavy handed punches in boxing, but he lacked stamina, and had a bad chin. Quarry KO'd him in one round, and he also got KO'd by lesser fighters. Frazier would take this fight a little caustiously due Shavers power but would bob and weave in to land his punches. I definitely would give the edge to Frazier and he would KO shavers after getting knockdown in this fight. Mental Note: When Frazier got knocked down by Foreman he got right back up, and hit Foreman with some decent hooks, but Foreman has a good chin. Frazier by KO in 5.

  4. according on who is hit first: joe had a h**l of a left hook and ernie had a glass jaw,on the other hand ernie could stop a truck with either hand..remember what foreman did to frazier.first come first serve.ok,ok frazier in 2.

  5. Thumbs up to maurice and toughguy, count me in the Frazier corner as well, Earnie was good but not that good, Joe Frazier was too much for Shavers.

  6. if jerry quarry can ko shavers in one round, frazier  could as well.......smokin' joe within 4 rounds.

  7. Frazier would probably take out Shavers by round two, using constant pressure and that left hook.

  8. no way
