No he is taking his time to think about it. He said He wants it to give it some thought and will answer in mid september before Nhl season starts.

No, he is still on the fence.

When he asked his family they left the decision up to him.  He has told the Avs he will tell them before the start of training camp.  It is the Avs or retirement.  He wont sign with another team.

A couple of seasons ago he started signing one year contracts so he could retire and not have anything left on his contract (like Brett Favre).

The Avs have left enough cap room to sign him if he decides to go another year.

So far, Joe Sakic is nothing.  He's not retired nor is he signed by anyone.

its not offically retired. i think hes pulling a Selanne move from last year. Hes unsure of his future. If he plays this year it will be with the Avs. Right now he is still considered a Unrestricted Free Agent
