Juan has described the atmosphere in the Italian club as very generous and encouraging. As a foreigner in the team, he obviously had to adjust to a lot of changes but was thankful to his team mates and management who made the process
very smooth.
"They helped me a lot at the start here and it didn't take me long to settle in. Now I'm showing what I can do on the pitch. I'm improving every day and getting a lot of support.” stated the defender.
The South American was even appreciative of the Argentineans with whom his country shares a historic rivalry when it comes to football. The team captain Zanetti was lauded in this regard by Juan, who was extra supportive.
The number 40 hopes to fill the gigantic shoes of Lucio, the former defender for the Nerazzurri, who has since moved to Juventus. His country man hopes to follow in his footsteps and help his current club achieve the same heights
the club attained during Lucio’s tenure.
"Everyone here is grateful for everything they [the veterans] did, and it's sad they've gone," Juan told the press. "I was a bit down about the fact we weren't together any more, but sometimes you need a change of scene and new
goals.” The stopper commented.
The 21 year old is hopeful for his team’s chances of winning the Scudetto after the victory against Juventus early November. He is motivated after defeating the champions and emphasized that his team mates share the same mindset.
"That win has given us the confidence to keep pushing on, and it was great for us to end their unbeaten record. No one believed in us when the season started and it was a huge result for us to go and win big at their place.”
