  1. When you jump it is a good idea to try and keep your shoulders back. Or think of lifting your "victorias" (b***s) up, this will help with your shoulders and slightly arch your back which causes your horse to listen more to your seat. Also keeping your heels down and thinking of using your ankle bone to support your horse over the fence helps too. Sometimes people dont have their leg supported enough and this causes their leg to go back and their shoulders and upper body to lean forward which causes the horse to become very unbalanced. You do not want this if you are doing a bounce or a combination, its almost guaranteed that your horse will either refuse or that it wont be a very pretty jumping experience for anyone.

  2. ok...  so?  your question is?

If you jump really good sometimes, I suppose it doesn't matter if you round your back.  But if you ever want to show, you need to learn to keep your head up and shoulders back or else you won't place as well as others.  You should work on that.  Good luck.  Have fun.

  3. What is your question?

What ever height your horse is, it deserves decent posture to enable him to move well, be it jumping or reining, dressage or trail. Yes you can cause lameness in your mount by a bad seat and frame,so if your not feeling sharp or on your game, do something easy and posture building  like cavolettis or field hacking.or bareback riding on the longe line. The payoff is big and your horse will thank you! When in doubt, do some dressage for strength.
