Just called to report herrasement?

Question

Am i in the wrong here? For the past 2 weeks some people i used to know kept calling my cell phone over and over, sending computer generated text messages over and over, now theyv started calling me at 1am on my home phone that just crosses the line, i called non emergency and reported it to the lady on the phone and she told me a deputy would give me a call soon so i can hopefully have this resolved tonight, how long will it be before they call back?

I can tell you are on pins and needles...  you did the correct thing by calling for some help....  don't expect it too soon...  try to rest until they call.

It will probably be a long time due to calls for service etc.  When it comes to harassment from phone calls, text messages etc........bottom line is this, do you feel your life is in "danger".  Probably not, I'm sure this person is simply annoying you and unfortunately if you really want it to end the easiest way to do it is change your numbers.  It's a pain in the a** but it puts a permanent end to phone harassment.  Otherwise you can sit there and choose NOT to pick up the phone, NOT to reply to text messages, and wait for the person to get bored and move on.  An officer talking to someone doesn't always mean it's going to resolve a situation.  You can always look into a restraining order etc.....but they will still know your phone number...........
